COASTOUR | Non-refundable financial support for tourism micro, small and medium enterprises

The purpose of the tender

The main objectives of the COASTOUR project are to develop a systematic sustainability monitoring framework and
an open access self-assessment tool to monitor the sustainability performance of at least 80
small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the tourism sector of five European countries (Slovenia,
Denmark, Italy, Portugal and Lithuania). and simultaneously increasing the awareness, development and capacity
of these companies in the field of sustainable innovation.
The financial support is intended for the implementation of well-thought-out sustainable measures with concrete
effects on:

  1. reduction of negative environmental impacts of business operations;
  2. increasing digitalization of business;

which result in measurable positive business and social effects.

Funds tendered

The amount of financing per individual company is up to EUR 9,000.00.

End of project activities: December 2025

Activities eligible for funding

costs of preparation, evaluation and acquisition of sustainability certificates (e.g. EU Ecolabel,
EMAS, Green Key, etc.);
training costs and raising the competencies of SMEs for sustainable and digital transition (e.g.
energy efficiency, consumption of water and other natural resources, circular economy,
waste management, eco-design, sustainable procurement and orders, sustainable mobility,
social innovation);
costs of participation in events that connect investors, sellers, buyers of services and
equipment suitable for a sustainable and digital transition, in connection with the challenges and goals that
the company identifies in the evaluation phase
;
costs of preparing and applying for patents, feasibility studies, prototyping, pilot
testing, preparation and implementation of business presentations, technological solutions
;
purchase, installation and use of technology for measuring and monitoring
energy, water and waste consumption (max. 20%).

  1. Expression of interest to the project coordinators in Slovenia ( emil.juvan@upr.si; miha.bratec@upr.si ).
  2. Evaluation of the business process using a common monitoring tool:

  3. Formulation of digital/green transition objectives to be financed by the financial scheme.
  4. Preparation and submission of an online application for obtaining a financial scheme, specifying the objectives from point 3.
  5. Implementation of the activities planned in the online application.
  6. Evaluation of the performance of the set goals from point 3.
  7. Submission of reports/evidence for disbursements.

As part of the duration of the project, the Slovenian partner in the project expects applicants who were successful in
the tender to create and submit a sustainability commitment on the DG-GROWTH portal (SMP).
