Description of the training:
The workshop introduces the concepts of human interaction and community in a sociological sense by distinguishing between different types of communities and their evolution. It addresses issues such as identities, identifications, alienation, rationality, belonging, inclusion and exclusion. It links technological developments to shifts in human communities and their characteristics, including the increasing capacity of people to imagine communities and to interact across narrow local and territorial boundaries.
Competences acquired:
- The ability to identify and take advantage of opportunities in the work and social environment (manifested as entrepreneurial spirit and active citizenship).
- Knowledge and understanding of the interactions between information and communication technologies and modern society.
- Developing skills in the application of knowledge in social sciences and informatics through theoretical or empirical problem solving.
Lecturer: dr. Tea Golob
Dr Tea Golob is Associate Professor in Sociology. She is the head of the Institute
for Social Morphogenesis at the Faculty of Information Studies in Novo mesto. She is a member of the Slovenian National Committee of MOST at UNESCO and participates in the Study Group on European Constitutional Processes. She was the leader of the ARIS research project Promoting social and environmental sustainability, the Jean Monnet module on responsible behaviour and active participation, the Interreg Central Europe project on social entrepreneurship and the WISE project. She has extensive experience in qualitative and mixed methods research, and has been involved in the development of a reflexivity measurement tool, which has been part of her numerous empirical and theoretical studies published in high-ranking publications. Her research interests are related to communities, digitalization, transnationality, identifications and sustainability.

The training will take place on 16 January 2025 and will last 4 school hours (9:00 – 13:00).
It will take place in a hybrid format via Zoom and in a lecture room at the Faculty of
Information Studies in Novo mesto, Ljubljanska cesta 31a, 8000 Novo mesto.
The price is valid for one participant per organisation.
