The training will introduce participants to the basics of 3D scanning. Both the theoretical basics and a practical demonstration of the scanning process itself will be presented. Using CAD tools, we will show how to extract a parametric model from a point cloud (reverse engineering). Advanced numerical tools will help to optimise the shape of the product.
The training will focus on optimisation and development of a product using its digital twin, creation of the digital twin using a 3D scanner, reverse engineering and creation of a parametric model, optimisation of the model using advanced CFD/CAE tools and creation of a prototype of the optimised shape using 3D printing.
