Building energy modelling addresses the challenges of optimising buildings or energy use. Buildings need to be energy efficient in line with the challenges of the Green Transition. At the same time, buildings and technical building systems must provide adequate indoor air quality while ensuring high thermal comfort. This can only be achieved through proper building design. The workshop will provide participants with an introduction to the theoretical basics, typical phases of CFD analysis and building energy modelling.
The focus will be on understanding the basics of energy modelling of buildings and understanding the basics of CFD simulations for energy modelling of buildings (impact of wind on heat transfer, indoor environmental quality, indoor thermal comfort).
