Basic cyber security training, free of charge for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises and public organisations.

In today’s digital world, protecting personal data and privacy is crucial. This cyber hygiene workshop will guide you through basic and advanced practices to help you protect your digital identity from cyber threats.

You’ll learn how to create strong passwords, identify phishing attacks, apply security updates and security solutions, and manage your digital devices in a secure way. The workshop will include practical tips and demonstrations on how to reduce risks and increase your cyber security.

Throughout the workshop, there will be an opportunity to ask questions and discuss concrete examples and challenges you face in your daily life and at work.

Timing of training:

  • 08:30 – 09:00 – Arrival and registration of participants
  • 09.00 – 10.30 – Introduction (importance of cyber security, threats and risks, basics of password security)
  • 10:35 – 12:00- Safe use of the Internet (Identifying dangerous websites, types of social engineering, phishing)
  • 12:00 – 13:00 – Break
  • 13:00 – 13:45 – Smart device security (what, how, why and how to use and care for devices) and online privacy protection
  • 13:50 – 14:30 – Backup, identification and handling of security incidents, conclusion and summary.

About the speaker:

Gregor Spagnolo is an experienced expert in information and cyber security. He is the owner and founder of SSRD, former Vice President and current member of the Executive Committee of the Cybersecurity Section of the Association for Informatics and Telecommunications at the Slovenian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and co-founder of the local community OWASP Maribor. He participated in the NATO Locked Shields exercise in 2021-2024, where he was also the technical leader of the Slovenian team. He has also participated in the Cyber Europe cyber exercise for many years and has been a speaker at numerous international and national events and conferences in the field of cyber security.

The service is/will be implemented in the framework of the SRC-EDIH project, co-funded by the European Union (contract no. 101083351) and the Ministry of Digital Transformation. The service received is co-financed at 25% of the full price as State aid in accordance with Article 31 of Commission Regulation (EU) No 651/2014 of 17 June 2014 declaring certain categories of aid compatible with the internal market in application of Articles 107 and 108 and in accordance with Commission Regulation (EU) 2023/1315 of 23 June 2023. The aid is granted on the basis of the MDP Programme of Measures for the Promotion of Entrepreneurship in the period 2022-2030.

Note: You will receive a confirmation email when you register for the training, which means you have successfully registered. Confirmation of registration by bank transfer is NOT required for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises and public organisations, as the training is free of charge.

For large companies, the full price of the service is charged.
