Virtual twin – optimise innovative and competitive products

Virtual twin – optimise an innovative and competitive product covers topology optimisation of arbitrary 3D products and optimisation of thicknesses and reinforcements in sheet metal products. The optimisation is based on advanced optimisation algorithms that optimise the product from the development phase, based on the results of finite element simulations. Using such optimisation, we can speed up and improve the development of reliable, lightweight and rigid components and systems, and reduce the number of costly prototypes, tests and corrections in the product development cycle.

About the speaker:

Since 2016, Dr. Marko Vrh has been working at CADCAM Lab, a member of the CADCAM Group, where he is responsible for the field of numerical simulations in Slovenia and the entire region in which the Group operates. He started his professional career in 2005 as a researcher at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Ljubljana, where he obtained his PhD in 2010. His research has combined analytical, numerical and experimental approaches. Throughout his professional career, in addition to his teaching and research work, he has also been involved in research and development projects, both at national and international level. Recently, he has been focusing on applied research, mainly in the field of automotive industry. Dr. Marko Vrh is a certified expert by Dassault Systemes in the field of SIMULIA software.
