(Faculty of Industrial Engineering Novo mesto)
Virtual engineering is one of the integral parts of the European digital market, the development of which is one of the most important priorities of the European Commission. The Faculty of Industrial Engineering in Novo mesto places special emphasis on acquiring this knowledge and is one of the pillars of expertise in the field of engineering simulations and the use of high-performance computing in the technical field in Slovenia. Computer simulations, with increasing computational power, are gaining in significance. Continuous improvements in algorithms and the ongoing development of powerful commercial software packages allow for the penetration of advanced computer simulations into all branches of industry. In the last decade, numerical simulations have become a tool used by a very broad spectrum of industries. Engineering simulations enable the development of value-added products and are becoming an indispensable part of product development.
The faculty in the field of virtual engineering or technical simulations within the Test before Invest environment offers the opportunity for a guided basic test of engineering simulation software, with a focus on numerical simulations of fluid dynamics and coupled problems (fluid-structure interaction, FSI), as well as solving them on a modern mini HPC computer (32 cores).
The service is/will be carried out within the SRC-EDIH project, co-financed by the European Union (contract no. 101083351) and the Ministry of Digital Transformation. The received service is co-financed at 25% of the full price as state aid in accordance with Article 25 of Commission Regulation (EU) No. 651/2014 of June 17, 2014, on the declaration of certain types of aid as compatible with the internal market under Articles 107 and 108, and in accordance with Commission Regulation (EU) 2023/1315 of June 23, 2023.
