Simulations and modelling Part 1

Description of the training:

The aim of the workshop will be to apply the DEXi multi-criteria analysis method to identify priorities for key areas in local communities with a focus on climate change, energy efficiency and resource planning. Multi-criteria decision analysis will be used to analyse different types of waste management problems caused by multiple objectives to be achieved. It will include different and multiple criteria (economic, social and environmental) and different measures (quantitative and qualitative) to meet the multi-stakeholder assessments.

Competences acquired:

  • Understanding the concept of multi-criteria analysis and its role in decision-making.
  • Understanding the principles behind multi-criteria decision analysis and its relevance to complex decision-making problems.
  • Understanding the importance of taking into account economic, social and environmental criteria when making waste management decisions.
  • Understanding the level of stakeholder involvement and engagement in the decision-making process

The training will take place on 10 September 2024 and will last 4 school hours (9:00 – 13:00).

It will take place online via Zoom.
